Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using Ridgefield Residents Directory. By accessing the reference, you accept these terms. If they do not work for you, please leave the site and do not use its links or search tools.

1. The Nature of This Reference

Ridgefield Residents Directory is privately operated. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections connected with Ridgefield, Connecticut. It does not host government files and is not affiliated with the Town of Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut agencies, courts, libraries, or any records custodian.

Nothing here changes a person’s rights under the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, CGS §§1-200 et seq., or the agency-specific rules that govern a record. The office holding the record controls access, correction, certification, redaction, and retention.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, its links, or any returned information to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or a related offense
  • Make decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act
  • Scrape, reproduce, or republish the pages at scale
  • Disrupt the operation, security, or availability of the reference

3. No Consumer Reports

Ridgefield Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Neither the reference nor a linked tool supplies a consumer report. Nothing found through it may be used for a covered eligibility decision, including credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated purpose.

4. Outside Services

Government portals, libraries, archives, third-party providers, and sponsored search tools publish their own terms and privacy policies. Ridgefield Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, fees, results, or data practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

5. Connecticut Privacy Law

The Connecticut Data Privacy Act may give rights to access, correct, delete, port, or opt out of certain covered processing. Its scope, public-information exclusion, and government exemptions matter. It does not make this reference the custodian of a Ridgefield deed, voter record, court file, vital record, or Library collection.

6. No Warranties

The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available.” No promise is made that a page, fact, link, portal, fee, coverage date, or search result is complete, current, accurate, or continuously available.

7. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this reference or a linked resource, including a decision made from a record located through it.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from misuse of the reference or a violation of these terms.

9. Changes to These Terms

New terms may be posted on this page. Continued use after the effective posting date means that the revised terms are accepted.
